It takes a very good courage to admit what should be done ( HUNDREDS YEAR AGO ). It was THE ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM. No one wants to see. It has been thought that if we do not acknowledge the ( COPTIC ) era it will go away. Well it did not go away, and THE WORLD SEES IT . Thanks Dr. Hawaas for your courage. Better late than NEVER.

I am at a loss for words. I salute Dr. Hawaas' call for studying Coptology in Egyptian Higher Institutions of learning. No knowledgeable person would deny the deliberate masking and destruction of Coptic relics and total excising of Egypt's Coptic history between 41 AD (ADE) and the advent of the Islamic Arabs in the seventh century AD (ADE.) If Dr. Hawaas is politically influential to the extent that he sees his proposal materialize, then he will have written his name indelibly in history. The link between the true Pharaonic Egypt through Demotic Coptic Egypt to Islamic Egypt is extraordinarily rich in philosophy, contribution by the Sea of Alexandria in the formation and growth of the Christian faith in Europe and Asia. This is a major achievement with a proud history. While the Ancient Egyptian demotic language is considered a dead language, its flickering flame has been maintained bright in the ecclesiastical Coptic domain. As Latin is a dead language only in use in the Vatican, so is the Coptic language, which is being resurrected in many Coptic churches overseas and in Departments of Coptic studies in many Western universities.
